CV requirements

If you wish to send your CV to us so that your CV may appear on the Talent Connect platform, it must meet the following criteria:

  1. Must be no more than 2 MB in file size.

  2. Must be no more than 3 pages.

  3. Do not include any photographs. Photographs could constitute a request for discriminatory information. It can be argued a photograph provides the person making the decision with information (about race, age and physical features) which has no bearing on an applicant’s ability to perform a job.

  4. Please use the language British English.

Non-mandatory recommendations

Here are some CV recommendations. These do not necessarily have to be followed for your CV to be accepted:

  1. Try to use the Europass layout. This is available at

  2. Aim the length to be between 1-2 pages.

  3. Use fonts such as Verdana or Tahoma. The font size should be generally 10 for body text and 14 for sub-headings. Whatever you decide to use, be consistent.

  4. Don’t start every sentence with the word “I”.

  5. The main sections of your CV should include:

    1. Personal details - make sure your address, telephone number and email address are up to date.

    2. Personal summary - Have this at the top of your CV, no longer than 100 words.

    3. Work experience - Try to mention your responsibilities for each post and what you learned from them. Put this near the top of your CV.

    4. Education and qualifications

    5. Interests and achievements - Keep this section short and to the point

    6. References

  6. If you have got a lot of work experience, try and think about which is most relevant for the line of work you wish to enter. You can place any extra work under “other work” nearer the bottom of your CV.
